Ange Hardy is a singer songwriter from Somerset, Yeovil. She's recently been compared to Eva Cassidy, Katie Melua, Suzanne Vega and Kate Rusby. Her debut studio album 'Windmills and Wishes' ( verges more on the side of 'Folk Rock' and is a more fully produced than the acoustic performances she is known for in South Somerset.

Ange taught herself to play the guitar, to sing, and to write her own music at around the age of 14. However she didn't dream it could ever become a career until she became a regular on the Taunton 'Open Mic' scene at the age of 22.

After gaining some attention in 2008 following her self-recorded album 'The Words to Write it All' Ange turned down an independent record label, deciding instead to accept private investment from an American investor in order to allow her to record her debut studio album in 2010.

Her debut studio album 'Windmills and Wishes' took six emotionally draining months to record at Beehive Studio's in Middlezoy. It was engineered by Olly Winters-Owen at Beehive Studios, and mastered by Sam John at Precise mastering in London.

‘The Lament of The Black Sheep’ is a collection of original songs inspired by family, tradition, personal experience, and the tales of West Somerset. These are songs of heritage and stories of working the land. It is the third studio album from Ange Hardy and was awarded 5 stars by The Telegraph

Each album comes in a limited edition case with a 20 page lyric booklet.

In a recent interview with the Independent Music Awards Ange confessed "By the time it had finished the budget had more than tripled, the track list had changed significantly, and the album had become so much bigger and so much better than I had ever imagined it could have been".

The album was the BBC Somerset morning show "album of the week" in July 2010.

MAVERICK MAGAZINE... "It feels just like opening another person’s diary and entering their world. This is Ange Hardy’s debut studio album and it’s a real delight".

SUITED & BOOTED MAGAZINE ... "the actual sound is beautifully recorded as well, crystal clear with a sense of audio space that you rarely hear from a CD. It's a very good but natural sounding production job indeed that enhances the intimate sound of Ange's performance."

It was released globally on September the 5th 2010, and is now available to buy from iTunes and Amazon, as well as from the official website:
