Dan Villalobos

Having resided in Mexico, the US and Australia, UK-based electronic producer Dan Villalobos’ rhythmic influences are diverse. He began to write melodies at an early age, once drawn to the grandeur of the piano after attempting the violin at 8 years old. Influenced by an early eclectic musical diet of Pop, Electronic, Rock, Punk, Disco and New-Age, Villalobos settled on the keyboard several years later, finding he could express himself not just musically, but sonically.
Whilst studying for a BSc in Music Technology, Villalobos worked on many recording and mixing sessions at the former Purple Studios in Norwich. He then studied under 5-time Grammy Award-winning recording and mixing engineer Bruce Swedien in 2009; an experience like no other.
Combining the technical with the creative, Dan Villalobos has spent the past four years floating between writing, producing, mixing and remixing for artists. In 2014 he began producing bespoke music for sync, landing placements on MTV broadcasts.
His most recent productions have earned various features on BBC Introducing in Norfolk, putting him on their sights as “one to watch”.
‘Orbits’ marks Dan Villalobos’ first original release as an artist-producer.
