Mastering is simply all about making your music sound the best it possibly can and getting it ready for release and this is exactly what we do!

Our Mastering engineer, Sam John has a wealth of experience with over 2 decades of Mastering and Cutting Lacquers for Vinyl.  Working with a diverse variety of styles ranging from Elentronic-based productions to full acoustic bands with live recordings and everything in between worldwide.  Sam is defined by his quality of work and attention to detail not just by a genre.

Sam has a great ear for detail and is highly respected for his judgment and musical talent in being able to understand each track and what is required, each new project requires a fresh approach. The genre of the music will also dictate how he approachs the project. Whether your music requires dynamics, transparency, loudness, colour, punch, analogue warmth and so on we will make your music sound the best possible!  Whatever treatment your music requires we have the tools and the expertise to give your music that wow factor.

Stereo Mastering

Is simply Mastering a 2 Channel file either interleaved to a left channel file and a right channel file. This is a standard format for Mastering and a good quality mix will allow us to gain the highest quality results.

Stem Mastering

Provides excellent results. It is a little more complex and allows Sam more freedom to change the balance of the mix or enhance specific areas of the mix while not affecting the whole track. Stem Mastering normally consists of up to 5 stems and can, for example, consist of; Bass stem, Drums stem, Instruments stem, Vocals stem & FX stem. However, your track may have more or less stems depending on its style. Particularly useful if you need any areas of your mix addressing or need a better balance of each section i.e with vocal tracks.

Streaming platform release

For release on streaming platforms such as; YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc… these platforms use loudness normalisation. This is so that all music adheres to a music loudness specification. So to make best use of the full dynamic range on offer we can make a specific master file for these platforms. We are accredited with Apple to provide Apple Digital Masters.

Attended or unattended sessions

You’re more than welcome to come and attend the session in our studio here in Scotland or if thats too far to come allow us to work with you wherever you are in the world. We are available for video chat in the studio to bring you in from across the miles.

CD Release

If you are releasing your tracks on CD whether it is for promotional use or for CD sales then you will need a master CD called a DDPi which is encoded with all your fresh new mastered tracks and all your CD text. This is 100% error checked and ready for you to send to the manufacturing plant where it will be used to produce (Duplication or replication) the copies. Our master CD’s are created using specialist equipment and are produced to the highest quality, which will reflect in your end product. We embed the mastered tracks, CD text and ISRC codes if supplied. DDPi Master CDs are sent electronically and you can audition the CD yourself and burn a copy if you wish before sending on for manufacturing.
